If you are looking for a pet then there are many options to choose from. The most popular choice might be a dog, but we all know how much trouble they can be. Cats might be the second choice, but again they take a lot of work and can be quite finicky at times. So if you don’t have the time to put into maintaining one of the standard pets available, a logical choice may be a rabbit. Rabbits are cute and furry and they can make a great pet for the right person. Just keep in mind that keeping a pet rabbit takes a bit of work as well. But if done properly, you will have yourself a furry companion that will keep you company for years to come.

The first thing you should know about rabbits is that they can be litter trained. This will save you from having to clean up a lot of their mess. Just make sure to browse some good rabbit cages to find the right one that will give your bunny plenty of room to do its business. You’ll want to gradually introduce a rabbit to its new environment while never forcing it to go anywhere it doesn’t want to.

It’s also important to understand that rabbits have different personalities. Some like affection while others prefer to be left alone. It’s impossible to tell which kind of rabbit you will have right away, so make sure to spend some time getting to know your rabbit. Take the time to observe your rabbit while it eats and when it relaxes. By using its own body language, it will basically tell you what it likes and doesn’t like. Rabbit are generally friendly creatures but that doesn’t mean you can invade their privacy. If it doesn’t feel like being picked up then you should leave it alone for the day. Making sure to account for different moods will ensure you get the most out of your pet rabbit. It won’t just be an animal that sits in a cage after all. And with proper attention and care it might just become your new best friend.
